The Forestry Interpretation Center was established following the designation of the City of La Sarre as the "Forestry Capital of Canada" in 1989.
It was the first city in Quebec to receive this prestigious recognition.
The current log building, constructed in 2012, replaces the original structure that was destroyed by a fire one year earlier.
It pays tribute to forestry workers who played a key role in the economic development of the region.
During the summer season, the Forestry Interpretation Center also serves as a tourist information office.
A must-visit destination to discover the rich forestry heritage of Abitibi-Ouest!
