Located in Palmarolle, Abitibi‑Ouest, the Domaine Roch Paradis is a peaceful natural retreat open year-round for outdoor enthusiasts.
Visitors can enjoy walking, jogging, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing while observing the region’s wildlife and vegetation.
Several trails have been designed to be wheelchair accessible, making the site inclusive and welcoming to all.
This well-maintained woodland exists thanks to the founder’s passion for the forest and the ongoing support of dedicated volunteers.
It stands as both a local ecological treasure and a living tribute to the pioneers who helped shape Palmarolle.
To enter the Domaine, visitors cross a footbridge located at the entrance. The trails wind through a managed forest, where around 500 trees are planted each year.
Some paths, such as La montée du petit 8 and Des lièvres, lead down to a creek and rise up the opposite bank, offering gentle elevation changes.
Near the picnic area, an educational sign illustrates the various tree species found in the forest.
Benches have been installed along the trails to allow for rest stops and quiet contemplation.
Domaine Roch Paradis is the perfect place to reconnect with nature, discover local biodiversity, and honor the legacy of the region’s early settlers.
